A proud graduate of St. Louis University, Bill Grinnell has more than 30 years of investment experience working in NYC, San Francisco and Boston. He has enjoyed lasting relationships with clients throughout the country. Among them are industry leaders, multi-generational families, and foundations and non-profits impacting change throughout the world.

In 1985, Bill began his career at Goldman Sachs, serving as a municipal bond portfolio manager with Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). By 1992, he’d joined JP Morgan in San Francisco, where he was responsible for fixed income solutions for the Private Bank’s most significant clients. Six years later, Bill began his own full-service investment and wealth management practice at Lehman Brothers, and relocated back to the east coast in Boston. There, Darin joined him in 2005 and they further grew the practice. From 2008 to 2016, they continued serving their clients at Credit Suisse, until forming the Grinnell Souza Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. At Wells Fargo, Bill and Darin have been recognized with the Premier Advisor Distinction reserved for the firm’s top Financial Advisors based on production, educational attainment, and client-service best practices.

Away from the office, Bill’s most precious time is spent with his family in Marblehead. They like to bike, swim in the open water, and stroll around historic downtown. Bill loves open-water swimming, and he recently swam from Alcatraz to San Francisco. As a family, they do the Polar Plunge on New Year’s Day, dedicating the plunge to a number of causes that are near and dear. Occasionally, Bill is fortunate enough to commute on his boat into Boston.

Bill and his wife, Deanna, have been involved with their four children’s schools over the years. Deanna was President of the PTA at Tower School and a Greeter at the Pingree School, and Bill has served on the board for both schools.

Prior to forming the Grinnell Souza Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Bill Grinnell and Darin Souza worked together for more than 10 years, initially at Lehman Brothers and then Credit Suisse. Darin is dedicated to proactive, comprehensive investment advice and execution for the team’s clients. His experience includes portfolio construction, concentrated wealth solutions for entrepreneurs and executives, tax efficient investing, and non-profit advisory.

At Wells Fargo, Bill and Darin have been recognized with the Premier Advisor Distinction reserved for the firm’s top Financial Advisors based on production, educational attainment, and client-service best practices.

Darin graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he was a Superintendent’s Award recipient and a four-year letter winner for the Army Baseball team. In the Army, Darin earned Ranger Tab and Jumpmaster qualifications, among others, serving as an Infantry Captain and paratrooper in the 82d Airborne Division. He then received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, concentrating in Finance.

Away from the office, Darin logs plenty of miles chasing his son and daughter around the yard. His volunteer and board service includes organizations like the Cannonball Foundation and the Station Foundation, among others. Cannonball helps create positive college admissions outcomes for all, regardless of economic status, through baseball and academic recruitment opportunities. The Station serves the service members and families of our Special Operations community. Its programs promote healing and resiliency to cope with the effects of repeated combat deployments. Additionally, Darin and his wife are passionate supporters of organizations dedicated to refugee resettlement and combatting human trafficking.

If you’d like to talk with Darin, he can be reached by emailing, or by calling (617) 854-1981.
